Extremely rare highly attractive Vintage Swiss Made Chronograph for Birks, Canada’s leading retailer, designer and manufacturer of high-end jewellery and watches. The relatively large case for it's age was most likely issued to the RCAF though there are no military markings due to Birks resale to the private market after service. This is a high quality timepiece also seen in Heuer & Gallet but in a slightly smaller case. Has nice olive shaped pushers like Lemania, Eterna and Omega of that period. Uniquely are the case back matching last three serial Nr. are also inscribed on the right upper case lug at 11 o'clock. (Pic. 5&6). The Valjoux Cal. 71, forerunner of the famous Cal. 72 used by high end Swiss brands is working and resetting nicely. It comes with the original famous blue Birks velvet box. If you collect 1930-1950 Chronographs this piece will set you apart.
