Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Explorer II "Freccione"
Ref: 1655
Year: 1973/74
Cal: 1575 Date Automatic Certified Chronometer, (COSC) beating at 19.8KBPH,
Case: St. Steel 40 incl. crown gards x 14.28 and 20 mm lugs, 24hr. stationary bezel. Screw back case and crown.
Dial: Black Mark II, T Swiss T
This is the Rolex to own relatively rare for a Rolex watch. Unusal and attractive dial with the famous 24 hr. Orange hand. This Mark II with a 3.75m Serial Nr. comes on the correct 78360 Oyster bracelet with 13 links and 558B end links. Bezel looks to be from a later version. A few scratches on the case and crystal left untouched. Stunning and very comfortable to wear at a price below most comparable pieces. The Evolution of the Freccione
Over the years, many explorers, mountaineers and scientists became Rolex Testimonees and were breaking records and testing their endurance and courage in creative ways, often equipped with Explorer and Explorer II watches. These intrepid men and women were increasingly concerned about the impact of humanity on the delicate balance of the Earth’s ecosystems. The purpose of their expeditions started to change from pure exploration to those designed to find solutions that will protect the planet.
